Q: Before working at HLG, what was the most unusual or interesting or weirdest job you've ever had:

A: It wasn’t exactly a job, rather a full-time volunteer role as Communications Officer at a children’s home in Guatemala.  My assignment was to bring to life the stories of the children, staff and the community–which was meaningful and riveting. On a side note, it was quite fascinating to discover the office dynamics of working in another country.  Email was almost non-existent!

Q: What is your role at Henley Leadership Group?

A: I support HLG as the Manager of Client and Team Experience. My role is making sure things run smoothly internally while also paying attention to our clients and ensuring their experience of our work is top-notch.

Q: What's your favorite thing about working at Henley Leadership Group ?

A: I love that we put into practice what we teach. Leadership, and as a result the team at large, is willing to bring vulnerability into the workplace, admit mistakes, and pivot course. We also have a lot of fun at work, which speaks for itself.

Q: What have you learned ?

A: Too many learnings to count! I have grown a lot in the area of clean communication and giving and receiving feedback.

Q: What are you reading right now?

A:  For fun, I’m finishing up Brené  Brown’s latest, Dare to Lead.  For my Master’s program at Gonzaga, I’m reading Leadership the Outward Bound Way.

Q: What’s making you happy this week?

A: With sun in the forecast, it’s feeling like the unofficial start to summer! Looking forward to a number of gatherings with friends and family this summer, as well as a few quick trips to nearby Lake Chelan as well as North Carolina.
